Summary
- Located along 33 miles of the Lake Michigan shoreline, Cook County is home to the city of Chicago and 125 suburban communities.
- Cook County is the second largest county in the United States, and North America’s most ethnically diverse region where 106 languages are spoken and one million residents were born outside the United States.
- Illinois has one of the lowest personal income tax rates in the nation.
- Chicago area residents have high disposable incomes, with the wealth of households 21.5% above the national average.
