of the instrument. Different kinds of strings can have different tones<br />
and sound quality. Also, strings made of some materials stay in tune<br />
longer and often last longer than others. The three most common types<br />
of violin strings are all metal strings, synthetic core strings, and<br />
gut strings.</p>
<p>All metal, or steel core strings are known for their volume and<br />
their pure, clear tone. They have great pitch stability and stay in<br />
tune even after they are first put on the violin. Many country,<br />
bluegrass, and jazz players prefer to use steel core violin strings<br />
because their simple and direct sound does not have the complex<br />
overtones found on some other sets of strings. Steel core strings are<br />
the easiest to play and are popular among beginning and intermediate<br />
level players. One criticism of steel core violin strings is that they<br />
can have a slightly thin or metallic sound that is not well suited to<br />
classical music.</p>
<p>Synthetic core strings are usually made of a type of nylon called<br />
perlon. They have a thick, rich sound that is subtler than steel core<br />
strings. New synthetic core strings have less pitch stability than<br />
steel core strings and take a day or two to properly stretch out and<br />
stay in tune. Once they have stabilized, they do not need to be tuned<br />
often and have a good, consistent tone.</p>
<p>Gut core strings are known for having the warmest, most complex<br />
sound of any violin strings. Most classical players and soloists prefer<br />
gut core strings for their rich overtones. Gut core strings are not<br />
recommended for beginners or intermediate players because they are much<br />
harder to keep in tune and can have an instable pitch.</p>
<p>Each type of violin string has its own advantages and disadvantages.<br />
On kind of string is not necessarily better than the others, people who<br />
play different types of music on the violin prefer different strings.</p>

<p>One of the most exciting things I have done is to learn to play an instrument. It was my favorite elective I had in school. Something about playing made me feel good inside and gave me peace. I am sure anyone who played an instrument feels the same way I do. </p>
<p>The only thing about playing in school is there was someone there to teach me how. They would teach me how to hold the instrument, read the music among various other things. However, what if you are not in school and there is nobody there to teach you? Don&#8217;t worry the resource below will take you by the hand and act like your own personal teacher.</p>
<p>The violin is one of my favorite instruments to play. The lesson packages that you can find on the internet will have video online for you to watch an instructor that can teach you systematically. The packages usually include hundreds of videos that have exercises you can do, learning to read music, and systematic instructions.</p>
<p>You might be thinking that this will cost you lots of money, right? Packages I have seen generally cost under $100. You get everything you need to learn how to play an instrument like the violin online rather than hiring an instructor to come to your house. Having a personal instructor in your home will cost lots of money. One thing that is nice about online learning is that you can learn at your own pace. You can run through the program fast or you can take your time.</p>

<p>Strength</p>
<p>Reed strength is measured in numbers in half measurements from 1 up to 5. The thickness or strength of the reed in relation to the air strength of the player will affect the tone quality produced. Beginners will start on a soft reed usually a 1½. This will result in easy production of sound. As the upper range is included students may need to move up in strength to produce a strong supported sound in the upper register of the clarinet or saxophone.</p>
<p>Brands</p>
<p>All brands will vary slightly in their strength and quality. Beginners will often break reeds as they learn how to take care and it is recommended at this stage that there will be no difference in the reeds. To start off it does not matter if the student uses the cheaper brands. As the student progresses they should be encouraged to try different brands of reed and decide which brand they prefer. Each musician will prefer different reeds, it will depend on the individual.</p>
<p>Maintenance</p>
<p>When a new reed has been bought there are steps which can be taken to ensure the quality of the reed and its life span last longer. First soak the reed in room temperature water for about 5 minutes. Once it has been soaked remove it and wipe away excess liquid. Place the reed on a flat surface with the flat on the reed facing down on the surface. Place the pad of the thumb on the thick of the reed and run toward the tip. Repeat this step a 3 or 4 times. This seals the grain of the reed preventing it from becoming water logged as you play.</p>
<p>After playing take the reed off the instrument wiping excess moisture off before storing in a reed case. Always have 3 or 4 reeds that you are happy with and alternate the use.</p>

<p>In this piano lesson you will learn to play Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star without the use of sheet music. After this <a href="http://www.enterpriz.org" target=_self>learn to play piano</a> tutorial you will be able to play the melody with both hands!</p>
<p>As you know Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star is a popular nursery rhyme. The melody is from France and the lyrics from an English poem by Jane Taylor.</p>
<p>The English lyrics are as follows:</p>
<p>Twinkle, twinkle, little star<br />
How I wonder what you are<br />
Up above the world so high<br />
Like a diamond in the sky<br />
Twinkle, twinkle, little star<br />
How I wonder what you are</p>
<p>In this piano lesson we will use a form of tablature instead of sheet music notation.</p>
<p>Tablature is a type of musical notation which will tell you where to place your fingers to play a melody on your piano. The first thing we will do is to locate the note C.</p>
<p>The middle C on a piano is the first white key that is to the left of two black keys. It is called middle C because on the piano keyboard it is right in the middle, near the keyhole.</p>
<p>In our piano tab notation the keys are numbered instead. This middle C in our type of piano tab is called 1.</p>
<p>This means that when you see the number 1 you are to play the middle C once. The white key to the right of C we call 2, the next 3 and so on.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s play some piano tab notes:</p>
<p>1 2 3 4 5 6 7</p>
<p>Now you have played a scale with the actual notes C D E F G A B.</p>
<p>Now we will start to play the melody Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star:</p>
<p>Twinkle, twinkle, little star</p>
<p>1 1 5 5 6 6 5</p>
<p>Now you have played the notes C C G G A A G.</p>
<p>How can you use your left hand? Let&#8217;s make this piece a little bit more difficult and also more rewarding to play by using your left hand for bass notes.</p>
<p>The notes from C to the next C is called an octave. The keys are grouped this way on the whole keyboard. </p>
<p>You also have these notes to the left of the middle C. We can call these notes the left octave.</p>
<p>If you use the notes 1-7 in the left octave to play bass notes with your left hand we can notate the melody in the following way:</p>
<p>1/1 1 5/3 5 6/4 6 5/3</p>
<p>The note to the right of the slash is the bass note. 1/1 means that as you play the first 1 with your right hand you simultaneously play number 1 in the left octave with your left hand.</p>
<p>I guess you have noticed that you only play bass notes together with some of the melody notes.</p>
<p>Let&#8217;s continue this piano lesson with the next line:</p>
<p>How I wonder what you are</p>
<p>4/2 4 3/1 3 2/5 2 1/1</p>
<p>What fingers should you use as you play? You can and maybe you use your index fingers on both hands to play but it will be easier to find your notes if you cultivate the habit to use all your fingers.</p>
<p>On your right hand you can use your thumb to play number 1 and your index finger to play number 2 and so on.</p>
<p>The next piano tab looks like this:</p>

<p>If you want to use fingerings on your left hand you place your little finger above key number 1 and your thumb on number 5 and the other fingers accordingly.</p>

<p>Now you only have to play the beginning of the song again:</p>

<p>Congratulations! Now you can play Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star as a piano solo with two hands!</p>
<p>This type of piano notation is probably best used as a help to find the notes until you know the melody by heart. I suggest that you memorize one line at a time until you know the whole song as this will enable you to play the song anywhere and anytime!</p>

<p>Most individuals who want to learn how to play a musical instrument, like the guitar, do so because they want to be able to entertain. They may want to learn for personal satisfaction, to create their own music, or to entertain a crowd. Believe it or not, the guitar is actually one of the easiest instruments to learn. Unlike a violin or flute, a guitar can be learned rapidly and accurately through patterns or chords. Many popular songs, in fact, don’t have overly difficult chord progressions. Once you start practicing different types of songs, you’ll begin to notice that not a lot of musical variance is needed for a piece to be played and sound decent too.</p>
<p>When learning the guitar, you have a couple of choices. Your first choice is to learn via the classical approach. This involves setting up a schedule and routine with a professional music instructor who will most likely charge a decent amount of money. He or she will then teach you the guitar from the foundation upwards. You will learn how to read notes, how to understand sheet music, and be able to play a song that is placed before you, even if you have never heard of it before. But, this method can take years of careful practice and dedication. This is great for kids, many parents believe, because they will be learning the basics, which will then help them when they begin to play pieces that are more sophisticated.</p>
<p>However, another method to learn the guitar involves teaching yourself. While you might have a friend or family member help you out now and then, you don’t necessarily need the help of an instructor. The instrument can be learned through teaching your fingers and hands to play certain chords and to strum in a particular fashion, resembling the song or piece you are wanting to learn. In other words, you learn to play the guitar through the memorization of chords, or sets of notes, that sound great when played together. That’s how the bulk of pieces are played in contemporary rock, metal, jazz, and folk nowadays. When you step back to look at the music involved, you’ll see that chords actually make up the song, which are much easier to learn, play, and follow along with.</p>
<p>Finally, when you first pick up a guitar, don’t worry about buying the best or newest model on the market. Looking in a pawnshop or purchasing a used one is a great way to start, and you’ll be able to find a guitar that fits your needs and budget. As you get better, you’ll be able to upgrade, but as a beginner, don’t fret! Additionally, it might be better to start with nylon strings until you get your fingers used to holding the chords and strumming before you use steel ones. Overall, learning to play the guitar takes time, dedication, and adapting techniques to fit your learning style. Once these three are in sync, you’ll be on your way jamming along to your favorite tunes.</p>

<p>Playing the violin can be a great experience, but if your not taught properly it is not very easy to learn. You must learn the sound of the notes, how to hold the violin, and how to use the strings to finger your notes. </p>
<p>An important thing to remember is how to hold the violin. If this is not learned correctly, playing can be very uncomfortable. The left arm goes under the body of the violin and then around the neck portion, so that the fingers and hands can touch the strings. The chin must rest over by the left shoulder. The right arm is then over the body of the violin in order to pluck the strings.</p>
<p>Once holding the violin is accomplished, the violinist must practice and learn exactly where the notes are on the fingerboard. Playing a violin is not like playing a guitar, it does not have frets. There are four main positions on a violin. Farthest away from the face is the first position and have low-pitched notes and sounds. Further up the neck of the violin is the fourth position, which has the highest notes. The strings go from lowest to highest, G, D, A, E. Violinists can change the tone of the notes by applying pressure on the strings. They can also play open strings without pressing on them.</p>
<p>Violinists can play long steady sounds by dragging the bow across the strings they want to play. They can also play what is called pizzicato, which is played by plucking the strings with the right hand and fingers.</p>
<p>Violins are however one of the most rewarding instruments to play once learned. If you think you have what it takes then I highly suggest taking the challenge of learning to play.</p>

Lots of other people may well be in your shoes at this moment and only need a push in the right direction.</p>
<p>The Various Ways to Learn the Piano</p>
<p>Before you do anything else, it is essential to know that there are two ways of playing a piano. These are:</p>
<p>1.Chords<br />
2.Note reading</p>
<p>It is a good idea to know what you want to do when playing the piano. If you are happy enough playing music other people have written, all you have to do is learn how to read the notes. However, on the other hand, if you are more creative and you would like to write your own inspiring music, an understanding of chords is a must.</p>
<p>If you want to learn to play the piano fairly fast, it may be a wise choice to take a chord based approach. If you learn the chords on the piano, you can learn the sounds they make and, therefore, make your own music. You can always learn note reading afterwards if you choose.</p>
<p>The Pros and Cons of Learning from a Teacher</p>
<p>Finding a qualified and reliable instructor is the key to having successful lessons while learning to play the piano. You could learn at home or at the instructor&#8217;s studio. There are advantages to both, so it all depends on where you would feel most comfortable. A lot of people try to find an instructor that is local to where they live. </p>
<p>When you are looking for an instructor, you will need to have a goal in mind. It could be that you want to play for fun and want to learn how to play from music sheets. However, if you want to be more creative, it may be a good idea to look for instructors that will give you chord based lessons. </p>
<p>If you hire a piano instructor expecting to make your own music and they teach you nothing but reading notes, you will obviously not be able to reach your goal. Make sure that you know exactly what you will be achieving. Otherwise, you could be wasting a lot of money on something that you, basically, do not want. Also, it can be a huge waste of money to learn something that you could learn online for a cheaper price, and it is just as effective.</p>
<p>Learning online</p>
<p>As mentioned earlier, learning online is a lot cheaper than piano lessons and it is just as good. It can be a great benefit to learn online as you can do it in your own time and at your own pace without someone breathing down your neck. It can also help to save time, too, so the benefits are quite good when learning online. </p>
<p>The only real disadvantage with learning online is that a person may not have enough motivation to learn properly. Also, with an instructor, if there is something that doesn&#8217;t make sense, they can get help. When you are learning online, it may not make much sense and there is no instructor there to ask for help.</p>
<p>You can also learn how to play the piano with piano learning DVDs and computer software designed to help.</p>
<p>General Guidelines to Learning the Piano</p>
<p>Overall playing the piano should be something that is fun and it should certainly not reduce you to tears all of the time. If you take your time learning and have regular practice you will eventually achieve what you want. You should not give up if it is something that you have wanted to do for a long time. There may be times that you get frustrated, but just keep going and you will be able to play the piano just as good as anyone else can, and even write your own music in time.</p>
